Ayurveda and Allopathic both are mode of treatment having there own pros and con's.
1. We all know Ayurveda deals with herbs and herbomineral drugs and Allopathic with chemical drugs.
2. Ayurveda administration of medicine and its dose strongly depends on PRAKRUTI( body constitution, presence of Doshas).so there is no DOC type of medicine concept in Ayurveda. In Allopathic dose of drug depends only upon age and body weight for a particular disease ,so DOC for different diseases are there.
3.In Ayurveda assessment of treatment not only depends upon improvement in biochemistry of patient ,rather than it , it primarily depends upon improving symptoms of patient. M not saying that improving biochemistry is not of concern in Ayurveda but it is secondary .So improving biochemistry takes time.
In Allopathic ,results are assessed usually through biochemistry changes.
4.
Please don't have prejudice that Ayurveda medicines are always free from side effects .No they have some. And if wrongly administrated will show no response as assessment of prakruti is very tough.
5.Allopathic medicine is really a blessing in emergency but Ayurveda do have emergency drugs but the irony is they are a bit unknown even to some of its scholar.
So there are endless differences but a common similarity is they both can treat a patient in acute or chronic condition, the thing needed is compliance of patient and experienced and dedicated Vaidya or Doctor.
