baolis of delhi r basically used to harvest rainwater(basically additionally) but baolis of gujarat r used for increasing groundwater level and for storing water for future purposes like agriculture and all.tradition of baolis has been in gujarat for decades.Baolis in delhi are not always used to store water,dey r disregarded nd get used in dumping rubbish.
