There difference between transportation and translocation are as follows,

Transportation:

  •    The carrying of water and mineral salts from the soil.
  •    It occurs via xyle.
  •    It starts in roots and ends in leaves.
  •    It occurs due to capillary action.

Translocation:

  •    The conduction of sucrose from the leaves.
  •    It occurs via phloem.
  •    It starts in leaves and end in roots.
