difference between basin irrigationand sprinkler irrigation​

irrigation of land by surrounding it with embankments to form a basin and flooding it with water.

sprinkler irrigation method is more suited to sandy soils. In sprinkler irrigation method, water is taken from source to the fields through pipes, whereas in surface irrigation methods only 30-45 per cent water reaches the crops.
