Biodegradable substances are the substances that can be  broken down into simpler pieces in nature in course of time by the action of decomposers or microorganisms.They are environment friendly.

Non biodegradables substances are the substances that cannot be broken down into simpler pieces by microorganisms.They can be solid or gaseous.

They accumulate in the environment and can cause water and soil pollution.

Biodegradable substance - the substance which can be easily changed into simple , harmless substance in nature due to biological processes called biodegradable substance

Example. Domestic waste ,cow dung etc.

Non-biodegradable substance - the substance which can not be changed into simple, harmless substance in nature due to biological process called non biodegradable substance.
