Bryophytes:
- Bryophytes are non-vascular plants.
- The plant body is leafy or thalloid.
- No vascular tissues.
- Rhizoids are present for anchorage.
- The gametophyte is dominating.
- Anthredium is stalked.
- Cells are haploid.
- Ex- Mosses, liverworts, hornworts, etc.
Pteridophytes:
- Pteridophytes are vascular plants.
- The plant body is differentiated into roots, stem and leaves.
- Vascular tissues are present.
- Roots are present for anchoring.
- The sporophyte is dominating.
- Anthredium is sessile.
- Cells are diploid.
- Ex: Spikemosses, ferns, clubmosses, etc.
