Difference between centre of mass center of gravity and centroid

centroid is a geometrical centre of a plane figure or an object, it divides the shape into regions of equal moments. whereas the centre of a gravity is the point through which the weight of a body acts. the term centre of gravity applies to the bodies with mass and weight while the term centroid applies to plane areas.
