A pulse train circuit is a square/rectangular wave generator where the design criteria is to achieve some specified or variable duty cycle. Clock circuit is a square generator where the design criteria is to achieve some jitter & simultaneity of arrival spec as well as potential spec for no. of phases,phase separation & duty cycle.
