art film shows the realistic aspects of life, whereas the commercial film has a 'feel-good' factor associated with it. The art film doesn't bother to get accepted by common people; here every sequence comes naturally. In an art film, music or romance comes as par the need of the story, whereas in commercial films, scenes of music, dance, comedy and romance are inserted to attract the common audience. The art film stresses reality, whereas a commercial film stresses popularity.
Cost of production of art films are generally much les than commercial films, because art film directors don't bother for shooting in exotic locations, or casting artists at exorbitant rate or insist on wearing fancy dresses by actors.
