Difference between concave mirror and convex mirror
Answers
the reflecting surface of concave mirrors are curved inwards while reflecting surface of convex mirrors are curved outward.
the center of curvature of concave mirror is in front of the reflecting surface while center of curvature of convex mirror is inside the reflecting surface.
concave mirrors produce real and inverted images and convex mirrors produce virtual and erect images.
these are the main difference b/w concave and convex lens...
i hope this helps u...
Answer:
Concave Mirror:
(i) A Spherical Mirror whose refecting surface is curved inwards.
(ii) A parallel beam of Light on this mirror converges at a point after Reflection.
(iii) It's also 'Converging Mirror'.
(iv) Concave Mirror has a Real Focus.
(v) The Magnification of a Concave Mirror can be Greater, Equal or Less than 1.
(vi) These mirrors are used as Reflectors in Projectors, Light- House headlights, SearchLights etc.
Convex Mirror:
(i) A Spherical Mirror whose refecting surface is curved outwards.
(ii) A parallel beam of Light on this mirror diverges at a point after Reflection.
(iii) It's also 'Diverging Mirror'.
(iv) Concave Mirror has a 'Virtual Focus'.
(v) The Magnification of a Convex Mirror can be always Less than 1.
(vi) These mirrors are used as Real view mirrors in Cars, Motorcycles, as they Enable the Driver/Rider to view the road and Vehicles behind.
