CONDUCTION....
mode of transfer of heat in solids without actual movement of molecules.Conduction needs a medium for transfer.
CONVECTION...

Conduction occurs when heat transfers directly from molecule to molecule as they collide. In other words, when two different substances come into physical contact with each other, heat will travel from the warmer substance to the cooler substance. An example of conduction is when your hand touches a warm pan. Heat travels directly from molecules in the pan right into molecules in your hand, moving from warm to cool.

Convection is heat transfer through movement of fluid molecules. Fluids can be both liquids and gases, so convection happens not only in liquids but also in the air around us. An example of convection is a pot of water on the stove. The water in the bottom of the pan is closest to the burner and will heat up first. The warmer water rises, and cooler water at the top sinks to take its place. This sets up a pattern of circulation and eventually, the water will boil. The same is true for convection in the air. Warm air rises and cool air sinks to take its place, transferring heat energy and causing air circulation.
