Its major functions are establishment of schools & libraries, records of birth & death, establishment & maintenance of hospital, electricity & water supply, sanitation, and so on
  • A taluk is an administrative division is a sub-division of the area in a district comprising the designated hamlet,  town, city, or other populated places which act as its administrative center, with possible additional towns, and generally a number of villages. As an entity of  the local govt.,the taluk exercises specific administrative & fiscal powers over the municipalities & villages  within its jurisdiction
