The nerves which arises from from brain and are distributed in whole body are cranial nerves while the nerves which arises from the spinal cord and are distributed all over the body.

Spinal nerve is a mixed nerve. It carries motor, sensory signals between the spinal cord and the body. In human body, there are 31 pairs of spinal nerves.
