In dot product you have to simply multiply it but in cross product you have to solve in determinant.

DOT PRODUCT -

dot product vector A and vector B is equal to the product of the magnitude of AB and co-sine angle between them.
their product is always scalar.

vector A* vector A = A2
vectorA * vector B  =  vector B *vector A

CROSS PRODUCT -

the vector product of 2 vectors is equal to the product of vectors AB.
their product is always a vector quantity.

vectorA * vector A = 0
vector A *  vector B  IS NOT EQUAL TO vector B * vector A.
