The difference between relative density and density:
1.Density of a substance is defined as the mass per unit volume.
2.Relative density is defined as the ratio of density of the substance to the density of water at 4°C.
3.The SI unit of density is kg m^-3.
4.Relative density has no units.

Given,
Relative density of silver is 10.8
Density of water is 1000 kg m^-3
We know that,
Relative density of substance=density of substance/ density of water.
10.8=density of silver/1000
10.8×1000=density of silver
Thus,density of silver=10.8×10^3.
