metals has the capability to conduct electricity because of their free electrons but the non metals do not conduct because they do not have any free electrons actually they have free electrons but they are non movable but electrons of metals are movable and or when they are found in solid state that's why they conduct electricity
also non metals are good conductors of electricity as we all know and metals are good conductors of electricity as we have studied before
