Hi friend..

Radiation is a term meaning  "transfer of energy radially", or energy emitted outward from a source - like sunlight being radiated from the Sun.  Electromagnetic radiation is "energy" that is propagated through the vacuum of space or through a material medium in the form of waves - like radio waves, light waves, X-rays and gamma rays. The term also refers to the emission and transmission of such radiant energy. Radiation is all around us.  -In fact, we are currently being bombarded by radiation. It might be coming from the sun, and the various electronic devices at home.  However, a majority of the radiation we are exposed to is  harmless.

The spectrum of electromagnetic radiation consists of various forms of radiation, virtually all of them being emitted by the Sun in waves. The radiation is divided into several regions, according to it's energy.  The high energy radiation consists of Gamma Rays and X-Rays, and the low energy radiation consists of Radio.   The energy of the radiation depends on its wavelength - short wavelengths for high energy and long wavelengths for low energy radiation.

From the above, we can see that "radiation" is the transfer of energy, while "wave" is a property of the radiation.  The length, of a wave λ, is the distance from any point on one wave to the same point on the next wave, measured in meters.

The amplitude, a, of a wave is the distance from the center line (or the still position) to the top of a crest or to the bottom of a trough. The greater the amplitude of a wave then the more energy it is carrying.

By way of further information, it's important to note that all electromagnetic waves are considered as radiation, but not all radiation is an electro-magnetic. The radioactive decay processes in which a helium nucleus and an electron are emitted from an atomic nucleus are additional forms of radiation, and they aren't electromagnetic.  They are classified as nuclear radiation.

hope it helps you..
