Generally speaking environmental science is a broad subject that doesn’t necessarily concern itself with humans. Sustainability is fundamentally a human-focused field that combines environmental and earth science (in the form of stewardship), with industrial ecology, energy generation and consumption (i.e., energy systems), public health, and a study of the built environment.
