Both Euclidean Algorithm and Extended Euclidean Algorithm are commonly used in mathematical calculations.

The Euclidean Algorithm is used to calculate the greatest common divisor of two numbers. The greatest common divisor is also known as the highest common factor.

The Extended Euclidean Algorithm is used for the same purpose as given above. However, it makes use of extra variables to calculate the above.

The major difference between the two algorithms is that the Euclidean Algorithm is primarily used for manual calculations whereas the Extended Euclidean Algorithm is basically used in computer programs.
