All alcoholic drinks are fermented, butdistilled beverages go through additional processing to purify the product. Beer and wine are the result of the natural sugars in grains/grapes being consumed by yeast bacteria. Fermented and distilled beverages are different in their production and applicaion. Some of the differenecs between  the two are as following:

  1. Fermented beverages produced by the process of fermentation while distilled beverages undergoes distillation.
  2. All alcoholic drinks including fermented beverages and distilled beverages are fermented, but distilled beverages undergoes additional process of purification.
  3. Fermented beverages takes place from the conversion of sugar via yeast while distilled beverages are made by boiling off the alcohol at different temperatures.
  4. Alcohol percentage in fermented beverages are less as comparison to distilled beverages.
  5. example of  fermentated beverages are kombucha and root beer and example of distilled beverages are brandy and whisky.
