petals are the brightly coloured accessory whorls of a flower which helps in reproduction by attracting insects for pollination.

The calyx (sepals) and corolla (petals) together join to form an undifferentiated perianth. if the perianth is colourful like the petals lt is called a petaloid.

OR

1. Petals are called corolla and petaloid sepals are called calyx

2. Petals are colourful and petaloid sepals are green colour

3. Petals are used to attract insects for pollination and petaloid sepals are used to give support to flower and are present at its base.....

hope it helps...
