Difference between general purpose computer system and embedded system

Embedded Systems are generally designed to do certain specific tasks like Digital Watch, Thermostat, car's ABS system, a music player. General Computing Systems like a PersonalComputer are designed to do multiple things and are not necessarily made for some specific purposes.
