Main Difference – Genetic Diversity vs Species Diversity
The variety of life forms of a particular area are referred to as biodiversity. The diversity of our biosphere ranges from macromolecules of a cell to different biomes. Genetic diversity, species diversity, and ecological diversity are three types of biodiversity. The main difference between genetic diversity and species diversity is that genetic diversity is the differences of DNA among individuals of a particular species whereas species diversity is the variety of species in a particular region. Ecological diversity is the variety of ecosystems in a particular area. In order to conserve the biodiversity, the ecosystems and habitats should be protected.

Current estimate suggests that the earth may have anywhere from 10 to over 40 million species but only about 1.4 million have been actually described including over 7,50,000 insects, 2,50,000 flowering plants and 47,000 vertebrate animals. We call such a.diversity among living organisms as 'Biodiversity'.
→GENETICAL BIODIVERSITY :
Genetically , The diversity of organisms based on their genes is known as Genetical Biodiversity.
for example : All the humans have same structure. All Lions have same structure. All mosquitoes have same structure but they only vary in their types.
→SPECIES BIODIVERSITY:
It is defined as the number of species living in a particular location or in a particular place.
It consists of three components namely,
(1) Phylogenetic diversity/Taxonomy.
(2)species evenness.
(3) species richness.
