✌️✌️ hey mate,

The scientist who defined gram positive and gram negative bacteria : CHRISTIN GRAM.

❄️GRAM POSITIVE BACTERIA:

➡️Cell wall made up of peptidoglycan+teichoic acid.

➡️Stain remain persistant.

➡️Cell wall single layered.

➡️Thickness of cell wall= 20-80 nm.

➡️Teichoic acid present. It provides stability to the plasma membrane.

➡️Only 2 rings in flagella present — S and M.

➡️Very low lipid content.

➡️Less bacteria are pathogenic.

❄️GRAM NEGATIVE BACTERIA:

➡️Cell wall made up of peptidoglycan.

➡️Statin removes because stain is soluble in water and insoluble in lipid.

➡️An additional layer of glycolipid is present in the cell wall.

➡️Thickness = 8-12 nm.

➡️Teichoic acid absent.

➡️All 4 rings in flagella present — L,P,S and M.

➡️High lipid content.

➡️Most bacteria are pathogenic.

thanks
nice to help you ✌️✌️
