Difference between growth rate and specific growth rate of bacteria

growth rate is what exactly means for doubling time or generation time, but specific growth rate of bacteria means that growth rate respect to time (lets say the growth of bacteria per unit of time)

it indicate how it grow during the certain time period  then you can spot the log, lag and other phase of its growth
