HIMADRI
1. It is the northernmost range of Himalayas.
2. Also known as "Great Himalayas" or "Inner Himalayas".
3. It is the most continuous range consisting of very high peaks.
4. Average height of Himadri range is 6000m
5. Core of the Himadri range is composed of granite.
6. It is covered with snow almost throughout the year and a number of glaciers descend from it.
HIMACHAL
1. This range lies to the south of Himadri and forms the most rugged mountain system.
2. Also known as "Lesser Himalayas".
3. It is mainly composed of highly compressed and altered rocks.
4. Altitude varies between 3700 to 4500m and average width is 50m.
5.Further divided into -- Pir Panjal range, Mahabharata and Dhauladhar range.
6. Well known for hill stations- Kashmir valley, Kullu valley, Kangra valley.
