*Himalayan River:

The Himalayan Rivers originate from the ice-glaciers in the high mountain regions of the North India. The glaciers acts as a major sources of water in the Himalayan Rivers. The water remains throughout the year and they are perennial in nature.

*Peninsular river:

The Peninsular Rivers are non-perennial in nature. The monsoon rains acts as a major source of water for the peninsular rivers. These rivers have heavy flow during the rainy season and reduced flow during the dry season.
