most basic difference:
homologous means different functions, same structure (like human arm and bat wing)
analogous means same functions, different structure (like bird wing and bat wing)

organisms with a homologous organ are more likely to be evolutionary relatives while those with an analogous organ are likely to have a more distant evolutionary relationship.

for example, bat and human have a homologous organ and they are both mammals while bat and bird have an analogous organ and they aren't closely related evolution-wise
