Humanware is hardware and software that emphasizes user capability and empowerment and the design of the user interface. It is the man-machine interface. The personnel which are related to installation, maintenance, operation and testing of a computer are called humanware or livewire. Eg. Programmers, Hardware or Network Engineers, System Analysts etc.
Firmware is software embedded in hardware. It is a pre-written computer program in machine language that is permanently stored in the ROM or PROM. Generally, these are booting programs which help in the starting of a computer. Such programs cannot be erased or overwritten.
