Answer:

Indian National Congress always reserves it's top two posts for Gandhi family members. Whereas BJP selects the best among its members as its President. INC gives importance only for the first family whereas BJP, gives importance to merit.

Indian National Congress looks to Gandhi family for support during elections. BJP looks to its cadres for victory.

Indian National Congress is supposed to be a mass based party. BJP is a Cadre based party.

Indian National Congress considers loyalty as of prime importance. Loyalty is well rewarded in the party. BJP believes only on merit. All meritorious ones are rewarded in the party irrespective of other consideration.

Indian National Congress considers caste as a means to victory in hustings. Congress uses caste to stoke rivalry and to polarize people to secure victory in elections. BJP uses caste to unite people under one religion. However they too polarize people on religious ground.

Though Indian National Congress is more left oriented with its socialism, is following liberal free market economy when in power. BJP is ideologically and practically following free market economy.

One advantage that Indian National Congress has is that it has not estranged any section of the society. Whereas minorities do not trust BJP.

From 1991 and onwards Congress is constricting, whereas BJP is expanding. From 244 seats in 1991 Congress has come down to 44 seats. Whereas BJP from 120 seats in 1991 has reached 282 in 2014. With 35.66% votes in 1991, Congress has declined to 19.5%. BJP on the other hand has increased from 20.04% votes in 1991, to 31% in 2014.

Till 1991 Congress was a Pan India bparty, spread throughout the country. Whereas now BJP has taken that place replacing Congress.

In Indian National Congress everything decided by Gandhi family and the party accept the same silently without dissent. In BJP everything is decided by the working committee which are discussed in detail in party forum before accepting the same.

Answer:

The Indian National Congress believes in applied

socialism and secularism that satisfy all sections and

subsections of the society. The party favours a fusion

of capitalism and socialism, and secularism is at the

nucleus of the party’s political ideology.

On the other hand, BJPs political ideology has

been based on religion for a better part of its existence

and it advocated the Ram Janambhoomi issue in its

initial years. The BJP believes in a sovereign Hindu

state as the ultimate political identity of the nation.

Politically, the party is more nationalistic than

socialistic.
