Island arc - Island arc are long chain of active volcanoes with intense sysmic activity found along convergent tectonic plates boundaries. most island arc are originats on oceanic crusts and have resulted from the descent of the lithosphere into the mantel along subduction zone. they are the principles way by which the continent growth is achieved.
