Difference between inversion and racemisation

Inversion means there is Chang in Configuration i.e, The spatial arrangement of the atoms in a molecule has been changed.

Racemisation means for half the reactant inversion has taken place and for other half retention has taken place. As both are equal in amounts they cancel each other and this is called racemisation.
