ionic bond is formed between a metal and a nometal whereas covalent bond is formed between two metals or two nonmetals

ionic bond are strong bonds , they have very strong force of attraction and are good conductor of electricity

covalent bond are not strong as ionic bond, they generally have weak force of attraction and are bad conductor of electricity
