Periscope is an apparatus consisting of a tube attached to a set of mirrors or prisms, by which an observer (typically in a submerged submarine or behind a high obstacle) can see things that are otherwise out of sight.
A kaleidoscope is a cylinder with several mirrors containing loose, colored objects such as beads or bits of glass. It works on the principle of multiple reflection, where several mirrors are placed at an angle to one another. When a person looks into one end, light entering the other creates a colorful pattern.
