Both legal process outsourcing and knowledge process outsourcing are types of outsourcing. But in lpo, only legal advices and services is provided whereas in kpo any kind of service can be provided.

Following are the differences in LPO and KPO-

  • Legal process outsourcing means when the firm outsources any kind of legal services or legal support. Knowledge process outsourcing is the type of outsourcing when someone is outsourced for their knowledge and wisdom.
  • Only a lawyer or an advocate can perform this .In Knowledge process outsourcing, only a highly skilled person can provide any type of suggestion to the firm. He should have the proper knowledge of his field.
  • In lpo only legal service can be availed. Whereas in In kpo, we can outsource any kind of service like accounting, finance, medical advice.
  • The person providing this type of service should only have knowledge of law and how to handle Cases. The person providing the service is responsible for the whole work and should reach the expectations of the firm or company.
  • For example(lpo):A firm is sued and there is no one to help the staff. The firm will contact the legal consultancy. So, the knowledge or wisdom of the legal consultant will be used in this case.
  • For example(kpo) :A firm want to keep up with the accounts and records of the firm, they can outsource a accountant.
