Latex is a milky fluid obtained from certain tree which is used for production of rubber whereas tapping is a process of collection of latex from the rubber.

Latex is a milky fluid which is found in many plants, especially rubber trees.

It exudes when the plant is cut and coagulates on exposure to the air.

Whereas, tapping means to make a cut in the bark of the rubber tree to harvest the latex.

The rubbers trees must be six years old and should be more six inches or more in diameter to be tapped.
