Difference between linkers and adaptors are given below:

Linkers:

  • They are double standed DNA streches.
  • They are attached to blunt side of DNA.
  • These attachment is done by ligase.
  • They are in abundant form in a reaction process.

Adapters:

  • They are the type of linkers in which the process of linkage is not done.  
  • It is short in size.
  • It can be attached to DNA or RNA or both.
  • Its both end is sticky in nature.
