Explanation: Materials can be pure / impure/ lustrous / non lustrous.

Lustrous is a term used for describing the property of a metal which has a  shiny feature . It is widely used in the process of jewellery making. For example Gold and Silver.

Non-lustrous materials have a dull appearance. They do not shine like lustrous metals.They are less bright and even glowless . For example Sodium, Potassium etc.

We can easily find out whether a material is lustrous or non lustrous simply bu cutting the material in two halves. If the cross-sectional part of the material exhibits shiny feature it is believed to be a lustrous or else it non-lustrous.
