Microevolution happens on a small scale (within a single population), while macroevolution happens on a scale that transcends the boundaries of a single species. Despite theirdifferences, evolution at both of these levels relies on the same, established mechanisms of evolutionary change: mutation.

The evolution which ocuurs due to small variations like colour as seen in red and blue beetles is called as micro evolution. Macro evolution for ex: in a forest there are red and blue beetles. Suddenly they are separated by a cause.Even though they met after some days they can't mate.in this way new species are evolved. This type of evolution is known as macro evolution.
