Matrix and Fibres:

  • Fibre is a collection of material which gives tensile strength to a tissue whereas matrix is the ground substance
  • Fibre is usually discontinuous in nature . The matrix is always continuous all through the substance
  • Matrix are homogeneous in a substance but, the fibres are arranged heterogeneously
  • Fibres provide tensile strength to a substance where as the matrix provides the uniform function of the different fibres.
