Difference between mechanism and machine

Machine=> A machine is a device which receives energy in some available form and utilize it to do some particular type of work

Mechanism => when one of the link of kinematic chain is fixed then this chain is called mechanism this is used for transforming the motion

(type - simple mechanism, compound mechanism)

Ex- four bar mechanism(used in locomotive)
