Answer:

The major difference between the Mendeleev's periodic table and Modern periodic table is : The arrangement of the elements.

In the Mendeleev's periodic table, the elements were arranged in order of increasing atomic number.

And in Modern periodic table, the elements were arranged in order of increasing atomic mass.

In Mendeleev's periodic table, there were 9 vertical groups and 7 horizontal periods.

In Modern periodic table, 18 vertical groups and 7 horizontal periods.

The position of hydrogen in Mendeleev's periodic table can not be explained, but the position of hydrogen in Modern periodic table is under light metals.

There isn't a particular place for metals and non metals in Mendeleev's periodic table, whereas metals are in left side and the non metals are in right side in Modern periodic table.

Elements that have same properties were placed under each other in Mendeleev's periodic table, whereas elements that have same valence shell are present in same period and the elements with same number of valence electrons are present in same group.
