there are many differences between metals and non metal and they are categorized into 2 main groups physical and chemical
on physical basis they are differentiated as

1. Metals are sonorous
2.They are ductile
3.They are malleable and can be produced into sheets
4.They are lustrous and shiny
5.They are good conductors of heat and electricity
6.They are generally hard.
7.They have high tensile strength
8.They are electropositive in nature

on the other hand

1.Non metals are not sonorous
2.They are not ductile which means they can't be drawn into wires
3.They are non-malleable
4.They are non lustrous
5.They are bad conductors of heat and electricity
6.They are generally smooth surfaced
7.They have low tensile strength
They are electronegative in nature
