Difference between metal and non-metal.

Metal :-

1) Good conductors of heat and electricity.

2) Malleable:- can be beaten into thin sheets.

3) They are ductile can be made into wires.

4) Solid at room temperature except Mercury.

5) They are sonorous.

6) Shiny in appearance.

7) Metals combine with oxygen to form basic oxides.

8) They have high tensile strength.

Non metals :

1) Poor conductors of heat and electricity.

2) Brittle if solid.

3) Non ductile.

4) Solids liquids or gases at room. temperature.

5) They are non sonorous.

6) Dull in appearance.

7) Non metals combine with oxygen to form acidic oxides.

8) They have low tensile strength.
