Metals, except mercury & gallium are solids at room temperature while non-metals, except bromine are solids or gases at room temperature. Metals are lustrous whilenon-metals, except diamond & graphite which are allotropes of carbon as well as iodine, are non-lustrous. Metals are good conductors of heat & electricity.

Hello dea!!

METALS :

》A metal is a material that is typically hard , opaque , shiny and has good electrical and thermal conductivity.

》Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity.

》Metals tend to lose their valence electron.

NON METALS :

》 Nonmetals include carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, phosphorous, oxygen, sulfur, selenium, halogens and the noble gases.

》Non metals are poor conductors of heat and electricity.
