The following are the differences between the Ancient and the Modern currency:

1. In ancient times, people used grains, cattle, gold coins, copper coins, lead coins, seals etc as their currency. Whereas, in modern time, people do use currency notes, coins. Plastic money etc.

2. The ancient money was not authorized by any universal authority. Whereas, in the context of India in modern times, the currency is authorized by Reserve Bank of India (an external authority).
