(i) Monocots-
    (a) Seeds with one cotyledon.
    (b) Leaves have parallel venation. 
    (c) Root system-fibrous.
(ii) Dicots-
     (a) Seeds with two cotyledons. 
     (b) Leaves show reticulate venation. 
     (c) Root system- taproot.
