The difference between monohybrid cross and dihybrid cross is as follows :-
Monohybrid Cross -
- This occurs between two pure organisms to study the inheritance of a single pair of alleles
- Phenotypic monohybrid ratio in f2 generation is 3:1
- Genotypic ratio in f2 is 1:2:1
Dihybrid Cross -
- This occurs between two pure organisms of a species to study the inheritance of two pairs of alleles.
- Phenotypic Dihybrid ratio in f2 generation is 9:3:3:1
- Genotypic ratio in f2 is 1:2:1:2:4:2:1:2:1
