we Quite simply they are classifications given to enzymes depending upon the number of monomers that make up the enzyme.
A monomeric enzyme has one polypeptide chain (e.g. ribonuclease),
while an oligomeric enzyme has multiple polypeptide chains.
(e.g. aldolase, which has four).
