Answer:

There are various aspects which differ this empires in themselves . Some of the major aspects are :

1 . Geographical :

Most of the Mughal emperors tried to invade the region starting from Malwa plateau till South India . Their much focus was on Deccan and the princely rich states of South . But Khiljis never invaded this regions because they had enough plundered wealth from Indian region . This was one of the factor . Secondly Khiljis were more focussed upon provinces and regions of Afghanistan , Baluchistan and other Central Asian regions . They didn’t tried to even enter bengal region .

2 . Political and Expansion Aims :

Mughals had high political aims in comparison with the Khiljis . Mughals had multiple military expeditions at a time in all directions of the empire headed by a Serdar to expand the territorial empire . But Khiljis had only one expedition at a time .

For Expamle : At the time of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb , He had military expeditions going on in Kabul , Kandhar , Multan , Kashmir , Assam , Burma , Deccan , Konkan etc but Khiljis were going in a order capturing the territories and expanding the empire . They came capturing Afghanistan , then Khyber , then Punjab and Rajasthan and then finally setteling at Delhi and establishing the capital of empire suitably .

From this we can conclude that Mughals had high pilitical and territorial expansion aims by expanding in all four directions of empire at a time but Khiljis always had one aim at a time .

3 . Arts :

Khiljis were very less interested in Arts and Architecture in comparison with Mughals who were patron of Arts and Architecture . Mughals have built many monuments and forts which are still a symbol of beauty .

4 . Power of Succession :

Alauddin Khilji (A successful Khilji Sultan ) had acquired the power by killing his own uncle Jallaluddin Khilji . Mughals had hierarchical order of giving the power to the heir apparent but only Aurangzeb killed his 3 brothers to acquire Power .

5 . Distribution of Power :

Mughal empire had a decentralization of power in the kingdom . Emperor had various Subhedars [ who governed a subhah ( province ) ] , Serdars ( aristocrats ) , Amaldars ( Senior officers ) and diwans ( administrative managers ) .

But Khilji empire had only one and only one Sultan who governed the whole empire . Decentralization of power was very less in force .

6 . Acquisition of Wealth and Revenue:

Mughals issued tax system to acquire revenue . Some of the taxes such as jiziah tax was imposed on people .

In Khilji empire , even revenue was earned in the taxes , but majority of wealth came by plundering Hindu temples of the empire .
